Proverbs 31 ~ Week 4

Wow!  We are already in week 4 of our Proverbs 31 study with goodmorninggirls.org.  I am so enjoying everything the Lord is teaching me.  Sometimes it is hard to look into that mirror and walk away seeing the truth but it yields the peaceable fruit of righteousness in the end, it is worth the pain :)
Last week I was so encouraged by this passage in Proverbs 9:1-2.
Wisdom hath buildeth her house, She has hewn out her seven pillars.  She hath killed her beasts, She hath mingled her wine, She hath also furnished her table.
....at first I thought what does this verse mean?  Wisdom is doing the building and she is hewning out her seven pillars.  So my question to myself was....what are her seven pillars?
After some study this is what I came up with with the help of one of my favorite commentaries....William McDonald.  He spoke about the sevenfold gifts of the Holy Spirit, found in James 3:17.
But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, [and] easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.
Wow.....as the Lord began to teach me I began to search my heart and ask myself....Do I use this wisdom to build my house?  The virtuous woman sets an atmosphere in her home that only can come from above.....pure, peaceable, gentle, and easy to be entreated ( ouch ), full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.  As I looked at this I realize that I do not always build my home with the fruit of the Spirit......If those 7  pillars fall what will happen to our home? If they fall or I tear them down......am I not yielding to the Wisdom that God so readily wants to give me?  These were all tough questions going through my mind that morning last week but by His grace may I rely on the Lord to build our home with His wisdom.  The Virtuous woman's home was filled with the fruit of the Spirt, the meat of the Word, and comfort for those in need......may mine be also.
Dig in and enjoy!  God has a wealth of treasure in His Word for us to find as we seek Him.
