Yesterday was my Mom's birthday! I cannot tell you how old she is because according to her she is 49 and holding.....well since I am 49 there is no way this would be true so let us just say.....she is a beautiful mom inside and out! When I was little I always remember my mom being the one helping people. Her life had sadness yet she reached out to bless others. One time in GA she was taking our "nanny" home and there was a man laying in the gutter along the street. He had been drunk and passed out. Do you think that stopped my mom....nope, she stopped, picked him up, found out where he lived and took him home and gave him coffee! She is still very much a fighter for the underdog and just hates to see people in pain. Life has thrown her some curve balls and this is her first birthday as a widow. From the time I was little she always told me, " to trust the good Lord". What a blessing that is to remember. She was a rock for our family. She is an example to me. All my life growing up I adored my father because of my mom. She never spoke against him or anything he did and it wasn't until I was older that I found out many things. I marvel at the strength she was given. Now don't get me wrong........she will tell you she is not perfect. She is a feisty, southern girl that fights for what she believes. She may be proven wrong at times but she will change her course if she is. Just a tribute to a mom that I dearly love and am thankful to have.
