Sudden Fear

Sudden Fear

Be not afraid of sudden fear.....an instruction found in the book of Proverbs 3:25
This verse jumped out at me yesterday morning in my quiet time. It reminded me of some things I need to remember and I wanted to pass it on.

Sudden fear, we have all felt it but what do we do with it.....Don't you love how simple the scriptures can be.  It tells us don't be afraid.  Have you heard the story of the toothless old Lion?

Well, let me share it with you.  In Africa the older lion, and the younger lions, will set out, when they are hungry, to find some prey.  When they find that prey the lions will line up.  The older lion lines up on one side of the prey and the younger lions on the other side.  When the prey comes near the older lion, he ROARS...the prey is caught of guard, has "sudden fear", and runs away from the older lion right smack into the paws and jaws of the hungry younger lions.  They have their prey.  However, the older lion was TOOTHLESS, he only had the power to roar.

Sound familiar?  The enemy of our soul can roar and it can be scary!  We can have "sudden fear" and run the very direction he wants us to or....... we can "stand firm."

If sudden fear rises in us , God tells us "do not be afraid!" We live in a fallen word, things can be difficult, but God is our fortress, our strength, and our shield.  Nothing touches us without his permission.

Remember.......the enemy is toothless!
