All Is Quiet.....

Flowers in Mama's Yard

All is quiet in our home tonight.  This is not a normal routine but it is a nice reprieve for a moment.   I thought I would sneak away and give an update and a week in review of our lives.  It is wonderful to share life together isn't it?  I agree and so does God.....he had a definite plan for His children.

The benefits of serving have been such a reminder to me of the great God we have.  His love and servanthood, modeled before us, in a way that was self sacrificing, is an ever present reminder, rebuke, and ideal in my heart.  It has been an exhausting week.  But God has supplied the strength and the peace to go through it, for that, I am thankful!

Many of you have prayed for us as we have served my mom through her injuries.  What a joy to spend this time with her.  It is hard work, not her :-) , but the things that need to be done on top of everyday life here.  However,  the blessings abound in my heart and the memories are in the making.  Thank you for your prayers!  Life with Christ is an amazing journey.

Here are a few photo moments from our week:

Beautiful moon in the sky as the night begins.....

only to usher in a beautiful sunrise in the morning.

Our barefoot mechanic hard at work...helping with all the car issues this past week.

I needed help with cleaning this week, because of the all the running I have had to do and Jacob always makes it fun. Who else cleans with a cape and gets his little brother all worked up? Shh....don't tell him I posted this :-) It is too fun not to post.....

See that smile,  he knew he was nabbed with the camera!

Grapes.....and Pappy's grape juice. This is a real treat each year that we enjoy!

Canning has been a challenge but we are praising the Lord for the time to put some things away.  It is a big savings over the year.

Being content with less than perfection.......something I am learning......when I opened that cabinet door today to get a mug, I couldn't help but smile.  Jonathan is in charge of unloading the dishwasher.....he does it with a great attitude and cheerful heart each day and sometimes two times a day.  How can I complain?

I was training Jonathan to clean the bathroom today....as he is happily learning, he tells me, " I wish Leprechauns were real because if they were, they would clean the bathroom at night and we wouldn't have to. " Haha, Me too Jonathan, Me too!

It was his idea to clean the windows too!  Go for it!  He is going to be such a blessing to a wife someday :-)

It truly has been an amazing week!  I only had one day of near meltdown :-) from fatigue.  Pretty good considering each day I was making about 6 trips each just to run young men to their work places.  The trips provided chat time, and fun time, and french fry time.  I still look forward to all our cars being up and running again!

Have an awesome week ahead, trusting in the Savior, who cares so greatly for each of you.

  2. Great post! Even when life is in crazy-mode, there is always something (no, there is always soooo much) to be thankful for. :)

I use the same window cleaner! ;) I switched in the last year from Windex. The professional cleaners seem to think Windex is just awful! Lol!

    1. Haha! It probably entered our homes through the same avenue....young men wanting to be helpful! How can we refuse? Justin loves this stuff. I cringed a little because I am a little phobic about things the little ones use but at the same time I want to encourage the older young men as they are so thoughtful in wanting to bless us! So, we use it happily and it does work GREAT !
